Huskies Fold Like A Cheap Suit

How about them Dawgs?  What on earth was that display they showed against the Washington State Cougars Sunday night at Hec-Ed, or what ever its called now!  They needed this win so bad to have a chance at a tie for the PAC-10 Championship.  Now they will have to win the League Tourney to even have a chance for the Big Dance. Where was all this Raise the Roof that IT promotes all the time.  I think some of these players give more effort to their image than the game at hand.  That might be a little harsh but like Softy of KJR said after this game.. he didn't even want to think about sports.  Lets just hope the Dawgs can get their act together before its too late!

Hall of Fame center fielder Duke Snider dies at 84 - MLB - Yahoo! Sports

Hall of Fame center fielder Duke Snider dies at 84 - MLB - Yahoo! Sports

"Willie, Mickey, & The Duke". Only Willie left now! I saw The Duke play when I was a kid at the old Crosley Field in Cincinnati. Think I was 12 years old, that would be 1954. Lot of well known players on that team, Pee Wee Reese, Jr. Gilliam, Gil Hodges, Roy Campinalla, just to mention a few.

Thunderbird's Imitate Mariners!

So how can a hockey team imitate a baseball team?  Easy.. both are losing teams and haven't shown much chance of improvement.  Here we are finishing up another hockey season in the WHL and the Birds are in last place again just like the Mariners have been.  Oh at times they are exciting but most of the excitement comes with the few road wins.  At home they are not the most exciting team to watch.  I like a lot of the players but for some reason they have a problem hanging on to a lead and lose a lot of games at home... last night's game against Portland being a prime example. The Winterhawks were down 2-1 and somehow scored 3 goals to pull out a 4-3 win scoring with less that a minute to go.  Just takes the air right out of ShoWare Center and totally upsets the fans.  People are calling for the Coach's head and more and more the General Manager!  The Mariners change managers when things go bad.. now its time for the T-Birds to really imitate them!

Kentridge @ State Elite Eight

I'm really glad Kentridge has made the Final Eight at the Tacoma Dome!  Not that I didn't want Auburn or Kentwood to win but with Gary Bell at state this will really make it exciting.  Especially with some of the other great players in Washington like Tony Wroten of Garfield and Brett Kingma of Jackson.  Kentridge could play one or both of these teams before all this is over.  All I can say is good luck to the Chargers and I hope you win it all!
